I would like to share my son's CRBA/US PAssport experience last month;
OUr appointment was sept. 17 at 7:30 AM..
We arrived at 7:15 at the ACS and waited for our son's name to be called so we sat and chat with other fellow applicants, my son played with another applicant also... after a few minutes we heard (PARENTS OF JADEN ____ TO Window D please), I told my hubby to carry Jaden.. heheheh
WINDOW D : FILIPINA SCREENER
- SHE LET US SIGNED the lower portion of my son's passport form, and asked for our valid ID ..
- SHE ASKED FOR MORE PICTURES BEFORE I GOT PREGNANT
- HOW WE MET?
- WHEN DID WE START HAVING A RELATION AS GF/BF?
- WHEN DID WE FIRST MET IN PERSON?
- HOW LONG HAVE WE BEEN MARRIED
then she gave us a yellow paper and told us to pay $150 to the cashier, and just drop the paper on the window after we paid and wait for our name to be called again...
after 30 minutes, our son's name was called and asked us to proceed to WINDOW A:
An AMERICAN CONSUL: he was very nice and good looking btw smile.gif
he gave some stickers to my son because Jaden keep pulling my hair and wanted to get down.. smile.gif
- he asked how are you little boy?? jaden just slapped the glass window .... smile.gif
- it was basically him and my husband was talking about the military as if they were long lost friends...
- asked us about how we met, where is hubby from? how long have been in the Army?
- then he returned everything except for our marriage contract and Jaden's birth certificate
then finally he said ok looks like everything is good, looking at the two of you now I can see the resemblance and DNA is expensive and would take a lot of time. I was told that your passport was lost before so I will advice you to go to the BUREAU OF IMMIGRATION to get a record of your arrival and departure in 2006, because we needed that on file and use the courier to submit the additional documents, he gave us a paper of what was needed ( PROOF OF PHYSICAL PRESENCE AT THE CHILD'S CONCEPTION) We thank him and I was a little upset...
We went to BI and requested my husbands arrival record at the 3rd floor and paid 1000 pesos for it and got it in the afternoon...
thats why my son's Passport took a month to arrived because we were asked to submit additional documents, usually its just 2 weeks... Im happy that its now ok and I finally received it.. cant wait to tell hubby about this.. smile.gif
To the future applicants of CRBA and PASSPORT:
- bring lots of pictures,
- proof of USC parents 5 years presence in the states prior to childs conception ( school records, employments records)
- proof of physical presence at the same location of your baby's conception ( PASSPORT ENTRY/EXIT STAMP, receipts, flight itinerary)
i hope this will help!!!
